Integrative and Functional Medicine: Clinical Nutritionist

Jamie Campbell, MS, CNS, LDN

Jamie Campbell Integrative Clinical Nutrition, LLC

My journey into nutrition and health didn’t begin in a classroom or clinic — it began in my own life, shaped by a childhood that taught me the weight of feeling powerless. Growing up in a challenging home environment, I often felt unheard and inadequate. But those early struggles planted a seed in me — a deep desire to help others break free from whatever might hold them back and reach their fullest potential. Over time, I discovered that one of the greatest barriers to freedom is often our own health.

About Me

As a child, I was active and full of energy. But when I moved to the United States, my world shifted. A more sedentary lifestyle and unfamiliar eating habits led to notable weight gain. I felt out of control and responded in extremes — restrictive diets, over-exercising, and eventually spiraling into anorexia. Those years were incredibly difficult, but they also sparked something in me: a curiosity about food, nutrition, and the profound ways these inputs influence our lives.

Determined to understand these connections, I enrolled as a dietetics major in college. What began as a personal quest became the foundation of my career. After college, I became the Director of Child Nutrition Services for a couple local school districts. What I saw there was shocking: ketchup on pizza counted as a vegetable, and children in their most formative years were being served highly processed, nutrient-poor meals. It felt like a betrayal of their potential. I realized then that I wanted to make a deeper impact.

I took my next role at a medically supervised weight-loss clinic, and once again, I saw the system’s failures up close. Adults — many with chronic illnesses and decades of ingrained habits — were being guided toward quick fixes instead of sustainable solutions. I recognized echoes of my own story in their struggles: the harmful extremes, the focus on restriction rather than nourishment, and the lack of compassion in the approach. It was clear to me that true healing required something deeper — a holistic perspective that honored the whole person. This realization led me back to school to complete my graduate studies and pursue licensure in functional nutrition and functional medicine. I immersed myself in understanding the intricate connections between the body, mind, and lifestyle, determined to create a practice that went beyond symptoms to uncover root causes.

Today, my work is deeply personal. I partner with individuals who are ready to reclaim their health and embrace a more empowered approach to living. Together, we peel back the layers of health challenges, break through limiting beliefs, and craft a path to true wellness. My approach is rooted in balance, compassion, and the belief that the body is a powerful partner in healing when given the right tools.

Professional Experience

Approach to Services

I seek to discover the root causes of dysfunction and support and manage those through real food nutrition therapies in a functional nutrition approach that gets to the heart of the matter. I work with utmost integrity amidst a health & wellness sphere muddied by extremes, soundbites, and disengagement with the human as a whole person.I believe that if given the right tools and support that it needs, the body has the innate intelligence to heal itself.
